Creating User Friendly Human-Robot Interactions

Challenge: Robots are cool, but how do people relate to them? What are the usability issues of a product that has a hybrid digital/physical user interface? How to optimize design for a better experience with such constraints?

Objective: Create interactions and interfaces that delight users and exceed user experience expectations.

Work performed: As part of the Essential Design team, I worked closely with the iRobot team in the development of key interaction principles, product architecture and industrial design for the Scooba 450.

Awards: The iRobot Scooba 450 was a winner of the Red Dot Award
